Ibuleve to sponsor Channel 4's Countdown

LONDON - Healthcare group Diomed Developments has signed a seven-figure deal to sponsor Countdown on Channel 4.

It is the group's first major TV broadcast sponsorship and it will be promoting its Ibuleve pain-relief gel.

The deal will span all Channel 4 transmissions as well as Video On Demand. It will run for 12 months.

Countdown is hosted by Jeff Stelling and Rachel Riley. It challenges contestants to arranging vowels, consonants and numbers to try and get a maximum score. The show airs during the 15.30-18.00 slot.

The sponsorship deal was negotiated by agency Bray Leino, which will also produce the creative for the sponsorship. In keeping with the theme of the show, the bumpers will include anagrams of words associated with Ibuleve such as 'release', 'muscular' and 'freedom'.
