What does your job involve?
Raising awareness of the Westfield London shopping mall and its audience. Westfield enables advertisers to reach an affluent group of two million Londoners.
What's it like working at CBS Outdoor?
I've been here for seven months and I am still impressed by the quality of experience across the company and its investment in staff.
What qualifications and experience do you need?
Five years at Metro gave me a solid insight into the London consumer and how advertisers have to work harder to reach this elusive, yet highly desirable audience.
How do you spend a typical day?
Site tours of Westfield are a must. You really need to experience Westfield to appreciate just how impressive the centre is. It's not just another mall, but a real destination for Londoners. A good chunk of the day is spent responding to briefs, working on proposals and liaising with other teams. The day will end with either a trip to the gym or the pub - both essential for varying reasons.
What keeps you awake at night?
I try to leave the pressures of the job at work and after a glass or two of red and a couple of chapters of the latest Maeve Binchy, I'm ready for whatever the next day will bring.
What's the best thing about your job?
Working on the launch of a truly fantastic product in a growth area. I recognise the challenges that currently face us all, but also understand the value of adding a new element to a schedule when there is pressure to cut budgets.
Who helped you get where you are?
I have been fortunate to work with some great bosses - Hamish Davies, Matt Willson and Simeon Adams all helped hone my planning skills. Steve Parker and Grant Woodthorpe are also masters of their trade, and I am
now lucky to have Nicky Cheshire to answer my questions relating to the digital out-of-home world.
Who do you aspire to be like?
The Old Trafford legend Ryan Giggs: respected by his peers, a tireless worker, adaptable as his career progresses and possessing a calm head, but ready to unleash some real energy. However, ideally, I would be less Welsh and less hairy.
