The two companies have launched a dedicated website called Student Zone, which will provide undergraduates with practical information and advice on how to survive university.
As well as giving users access to the bank's 2000 student advisers, the website covers a range of issues, from managing a budget to finding a flatmate.
Student Zone will be promoted on the Yahoo! website, which the company claims attracts 13m users a month.
The dedicated site is divided into four main sections: getting started, freshers' essentials, a money guide and travel and transport. Student Zone also contains information on coping with study workloads, renting property and planning a gap year.
The development of Student Zone was overseen by Rebecca Stephenson, head of personal customer marketing at HSBC.
