HP awards global media account to Omnicom

LONDON - Omnicom Media Group has won Hewlett Packard's global media business, depriving five-year incumbent ZenithOptimedia of the ($320m) £220m account.

Publicis Groupe's , which repitched for the account in a final round against 's and , has managed the global account since 2004.

Before the final round, agency groups , and were also involved in the pitching process.

Omnicom now has responsibility for media planning and buying across the computing group's four business divisions -- Corporate, Personal Systems Group, Technology Solutions Group and Image Printing Group.

According to Nielsen figures, HP spent £220m on media in 2007.

Last year, HP spent £10.5m on advertising in the UK, according to Nielsen.
