Honda consolidates £25m planning into Starcom

LONDON - Starcom has been awarded Honda's strategic planning business in a development that consolidates its hold on the car marque's £25m media planning and buying account.

Honda has not had a retained strategic planning agency since parting company with Naked last July after four years.

Stewart Easterbrook, Starcom UK group managing director, called the appointment "a validation of what Starcom can offer from a planning perspective".

He said: "The appointment represents an extension of our role with Honda and as a team we are very excited about the opportunity."

Ian Armstrong, manager of customer communications at Honda, said: "As media becomes more and more fragmented and distributed via an ever increasing number of spaces, it makes sense for us to apply a greater level of planning rigour than we have to date. Starcom is well placed to do that given our current relationship with it."
