The ads, which were created by Saatchi & Saatchi, will book-end TV ad breaks in the UK, US, France and Germany today (16 March). The aim is to create a position that will rival Airbnb.

One film tells the girl’s story, and the second shows the dog also missing the girl and then making the journey to join her on holiday.

The campaign, which is called "the whole story", was created by Alex Sattlecker and Linda Weitgasser, with creative direction from Kate Stanners.

The ads were directed by Martin Krejci through Stink. Media buying was handled by Zenith Optimedia Worldwide.

Saatchi & Saatchi won the $40 million HomeAway account in January.
