It comes as Holland & Barrett moves away from its long-standing ad strategy after in order to launch animated TV spots focused on a "in pursuit of health and happiness" positioning.
Lysa Hardy, who at Holland & Barrett parent company NBTY last year, claims the retailer is confident staff "can answer any questions relating to products sold in-store", as it seeks to establish itself as a place where people can go to receive "quality health advice they can trust".
Customers will be offered the 20% discount at the till if staff fail to answer the questions, with discounts also being offered on top of "buy one get one half-price" promotions.
