The characters will appear on an activity sheet that promotes the National Year of Reading scheme, which is supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families. The campaign, created by Cocktail Marketing, will run from September to November in the chain’s 120 hotels nationwide.

The activity sheets, Holiday Inn website and TV screens in the chain’s outlets will also urge customers to enter an online competition for the chance to win one of 20 sets of the Enid Blyton books.

Revamped, animated versions of the characters are currently appearing on a cartoon series that is being broadcast on digital and satellite channel The Disney Channel.
