HMV gives users its first online job shop

HMV, the music, DVD and games retailer, has launched its first careers web site.

Hmvcareers.co.uk has been built and designed by new-media agency beech2, the digital arm of BDS Beechwood.

The site aims to recruit new personnel through the internet rather than traditional methods such as email or postal applications. It will provide users with up-to-date information regarding HMV and the job opportunities available.

Liam Donnelly, human resources director at HMV, commented: "The information that is provided about our different employment opportunities will be via real people profiles.

"In the near future, we will be offering a fully interactive web site, with vacancies going live the moment they arise, thus streamlining the whole application process," adds Donnelly.

Toby Aldred, account manager at beech2, revealed: "The HMV careers web site is part of an overall plan for our client, which started at the beginning of the year - to re-brand all external human resources communications consistently.

"The project began, initially, with guidelines for press advertising and instore posters, through to the development of the web site itself, which features the introduction of the corporate identity in a modern and interactive and graphical style," added Aldred.
