HMV and Apple chiefs tipped to replace Grade at ITV

It is understood that a number of candidates met with ITV board members last week in a final round of interviews to find a replacement for Michael Grade.

Simon Fox was appointed as chief executive of HMV in 2006 and has largely been credited with the retailers turn around.

Grade is due to step down from his current role at ITV by the end of 2009 and become non-executive chairman. Grade became executive chairman at the broadcaster January 2007.
