The hives link up with MTV to push single

Record label Poptones/Telstar has tied up with MTV to push a single from indie rockers The Hives through an online game.

The game will be hosted on MTV.co.uk's home page and mailed to 150,000 subscribers. It will also be available on a microsite - mainoffender.com.

Created by digital agency Holler, the game is based on sequences from the video for the single Main Offender, which is released in the UK next week. It features a rival band, who players must shoot.

Release information and a send to a friend feature are included on the site.

Trailers on MTV2 will push viewers to play the game. Promotions firm Way To Blue acted for Poptones/Telstar.
