The move comes as HFC seeks to grow its credit card business, according to Esther Morley, head of credit card analysis at the banking firm.
"We are confident that Acxiom's input will continue to provide us with major business benefits that will impact on the bottom line," She said.
As part of the deal Acxiom will also use credit data from Equifax, which it has a strategic alliance with, as well as information from its InfoBase Lifestyle Universe product and HFC's own data.
Sam Taverner, Acxiom business development director, said: "With the biggest lifestyle data source in the UK and unrivalled data services solutions, combined with Equifax's credit data, we are confident that we can significantly enhance the effectiveness of HFC Banks prospecting activity."
Earlier this month, Acxiom announced its launch into the suppression market with its Purity service.
