Heinz overhauls tinned spaghetti to focus on healthy ingredients

LONDON - Heinz is to revamp the packaging of its tinned spaghetti to reassure parents of its healthy ingredients.

Jones Knowles Ritchie will create a design that highlights the fact that the range now contains 43% less salt than before, and is made from multigrain pasta for added nutritional value.

The product line has been overhauled in response to rising consumer demand for healthier options.

As well as changing the ingredients, Heinz has expanded the range with the launch of three, shaped variants: Spaced Spaghetti, Spaghetti Head and Funky Fish.

Last month, Marketing revealed that Heinz is planning one of its most significant product extensions in decades with the rollout of spicy baked beans. The range, which will include chilli and jalfrezi flavours, will be sold in Somerfield stores.
