Fru Hazlitt is leaving Capital Radio to head the European sales
operations for Yahoo!.
Hazlitt will be based at Yahoo! Europe and the company is currently
seeking a UK office for operations. She will be responsible for
developing new sales strategies across Yahoo!’s eight European outlets
and will build pan-European advertising deals.
Hazlitt said: ’My job will be to make technology accessible to all
clients who think that radio and TV are the safe options.’
Hazlitt is the second of Capital’s management personnel lost to Yahoo!
in the past six months. Ex-managing director Martina King left Capital
to join the internet company as UK and Ireland managing director.
Hazlitt explained: ’I was aware that there was a job opening at Yahoo!
for some months, and a firm of head hunters called me to ask my opinion
about a candidate who was put forward for the job. I think they were
deciding whether they wanted Martina or myself at that stage.’
Hazlitt confirmed that she will remain with Capital for the next six
months and will be looking for new staff to join her at Yahoo! in the
near future.
Hazlitt joined Capital Radio six years ago and moved rapidly up the
company ladder from client sales director to group head. She eventually
set up and led the ad sales department in 1997 with a team of 139.
