Harry Potter movie news delivered in WB Alert service

LONDON - Warner Bros will give fans of movies, including the Harry Potter series, access to news via a desktop alert service called WB Alerts.

Users of the WB Alerts, developed by Skinkers Communications, will receive the latest movie, DVD and television news from Warner Bros, as well as being the first to hear about competitions and hot gossip.

Fans will also be able to opt in to receive additional movie news on titles such as 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban', 'Scooby Doo' and 'Looney Tunes', which will be delivered by their favourite animated characters.

Barney Loehnis, director of marketing for Warner Bros international new media, said: "The development of a single communication channel through which we can talk to our core audience across a range of properties is very exciting. Through our WB Alerts Pod, we can serve both the fanatic who selects to receive all updates on our new releases, and the 'interested browser' who simply wants to be informed of our latest trailers."

Users can download the WB Alerts Pod .
