More than 5,000 city workers gathered on the HAC's Artillery Garden prior to the start of the race, which saw them run through the closed-off streets of the City, past iconic landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral and the Bank of England.
Once back at the venue, 800 of the runners enjoyed a post-race reception in the Prince Consort Rooms, with a further 200 in the Long Room.
"We are delighted that for the fourth year in succession, [organiser] London Marathon has chosen to use the HAC for this event," said the venue's head of marketing and events, Diane Waldron. "The HAC is probably the only venue in the City with the range of facilities to be able to host the City Race, and we are delighted to be associated with such a fantastic occasion."
