H Samuel and Ernest Jones awards media account to the7stars

Signet, the owner of high street jeweller H Samuel and Ernest Jones, has awarded its media planning and buying account to the7stars following a pitch process against the incumbent John Ayling and Associates and other unnamed agencies.

Last year, Signet in the run-up to Valentine's Day.

The retailer has also recently been promoting a tie-in involving Sekonda watches and Sky Living programme 'Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model' as part of the watchmaker’s Partytime collection, which are available exclusively in H Samuel next month.

According to the company, it is the world's "largest specialty retail jeweller by sales", with stores in the US, UK, Republic of Ireland and Channel Islands.

In the UK it operates 540 stores under the H.Samuel, Ernest Jones, and Leslie Davis brands including 14 stores in the Republic of Ireland and three in the Channel Islands.

The latest win adds to a purple patch of new business wins for the independent agency. In recent months the agency, founded by Jenny Biggam and Mark Jarvis, has won the media accounts for , the shoe retailer, and the furniture retailer.

In May, Signet Group reported first quarter global sales of $887.3m (£550m), up 10.2% on the comparable period during 2010.
