Green's Tangent buys digital agency in £4.5m acquisition

LONDON - Digital print and marketing technology group Tangent Communications, which is backed by former Carlton TV chairman Michael Green, has paid 拢4.5m for C360, a digital marketing technology specialist.

Green invested in Tangent in June last year, following his departure from Carlton in 2003 when it was about to merge with Granada to form ITV. Two of his nephews, Nick and Tim Green, also bought into the company and Nick is joint chief executive.

C360 provides campaign and data management across platforms such as email, web, text messaging and interactive TV, for clients including Nike, Ted Baker, the National Lottery and media agency PHD.

Nick Green said: "Data continues to drive our business. C360 delivered 150% sales growth last year and by combining their software with our existing business, we will be able to offer our clients a complete end-to-end service including delivery, tracking and reporting."

AIM-listed Tangent has funded the 拢4.5m purchase with an initial payment of 拢500,000 in cash and 拢2m in Tangent equity, and a maximum further payment of 拢2m based on targets over three years.
