Daniel Bonner, AKQA's European chief creative officer, led the pitch with AKQA Amsterdam. AKQA in Amsterdam and AKQA Film in London will handle the account together.

Although AKQA has been appointed to work on a single climate change project, the relationship could be expanded to further briefs, a Greenpeace International spokeswoman suggested. The environmental NGO currently uses digital agencies on a project basis.

The campaign, expected to break at the end of this month, will deliver Greenpeace's plan for an "energy [r]evolution" through renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Martin Lloyd, Greenpeace International's communications manager for climate, said: "We selected AKQA because of the real ambition it brought to the pitch."

Separately, AKQA has also won a brief from Sainsbury's Finance to redesign its website. Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO handles the above the line creative work.
