It is the first time Dorothy Perkins, Tophop's older sister store, has advertised on TV. The campaign, created by Grey London and to be launched later this month, will be backed up by a print campaign.
Department store BHS, which competes more directly with M&S, will reveal details of its TV campaign next week with the creative slated to be launched in October.
Green's announcement to launch ads for "Dotty P" and BHS coincides with the launch of M&S's new advertising campaign, "Your M&S", which is being rolled out across its stores later this month.
Speaking at the Dorothy Perkins in-house awards day, Green could not hold back a dig at rival M&S, which recently rejected his 拢9.1bn takeover bid.
"We're into evolution, [M&S] needs a real revolution. It's a very different place," Green said.
Arcadia plans to allocate 拢35m to its marketing budget for clothing chains Topshop, Wallis, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Burtons and Dorothy Perkins.
Dorothy Perkins awarded its creative advertising account to Grey earlier this year, following a pitch involving Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners, Ogilvy & Mather, HHCL/Red Cell and Euro RSCG London.
