The division will be known as Granada Sport and Interactive, and it will look after properties such as: Liverpoolfc.tv, in which it owns a 50% stake; Arsenal Broadband, the media company's joint venture with Arsenal FC; and MUTV, in which Granada owns a 33% share.
Liverpoolfc.tv's chief executive Adam Rhodes is to leave the group after the restructuring, and will not be replaced.
The move reflects Granada's desire to increase the profitability of its sporting interests, for which it has paid a high premium. However, it has been hampered by the slow take-up of broadband services.
The new arrangement means resources can be shared between online and television production teams.
