Grade to appear before Lords TV and film inquiry

LONDON - Michael Grade, executive chairman of ITV, is to give evidence to the House of Lords Communications Committee next Wednesday (14 October) as part of its inquiry into the British TV and film industries.

He will be asked about ITV's investment in new British programming and how the broadcaster is being affected by the economic difficulties facing commercial television.

The committee also intends to speak to him about the case for changes to the regulatory arrangements surrounding ITV.

Grade is also expected to be quizzed about ITV's views on training for the TV industry and about Project Canvas, the planned on-demand venture.

The Lords Communications Committee launched the inquiry in February to look at the contribution of the British TV and film industries to the British economy.
