The campaign breaks today and uses Valentine's Day as a hook. Another of the executions shows a picture of a couple holding hands during a beach sunset and reads: "I'll never forget the night you gave me genital warts."
The ads will run in national tabloid newspapers, on radio stations and online media, as well as ambient media such as washroom posters and beer mats. It is being launched at a time when sexually transmitted infections are rising among younger people. There is also a new website .
Melanie Johnson, public health minister, said: "The Sex Lottery campaign is targeted specifically at sexually active 18- to 30-year-olds and has already achieved significant behaviour change. But it's clear that we must do more to bring home the message of the risk of sexually transmitted infections."
The Department of Health first launched its 'Sex Lottery' campaign in 2002, created by Delaney Lund Knox Warren and Naked Communications. Earlier campaigns have included advertising warning young people about practising safe sex during the Christmas party season.
The government is spending £4m over two years to promote the issue.
