Ken Sara and Jon Elsom are the creative team behind "Gonorrhoea", the winning ad for the COI Communications/Department of Health campaign raising awareness of adult sexual health issues. The ad features a spoof game show, "The Sex Lottery". Gonorrhoea is one of the prizes.
The joint first runners-up - "Chlamydia" and "Sex Lottery" - also came from COI's adult sexual health campaign.
The spots were also created by Sara and Elsom. All three executions were produced by Hannah Webster, Neil Harrington was the sound engineer and Grand Central the facility house.
The second runner-up is a cdp-travissully ad for Gallagher Hamlet Cigars.
The ad is a spoof of Lord of the Rings, in which Frodo misses his chance to destroy the deadly ring by forgetting to bring it with him. It was created by Ruan Milborrow, produced by Jacky Bateman and sound engineered by Nick Angell for Angell Sound.
The awards were judged by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO's Nick Worthington and Paul Brazier. They said: "Any campaign that can get 'severely inflamed testicles' on air deserves applause."
On the Hamlet ad, the judges added: "This latest offering is very good and stands high above regular commercial radio."
