The show, which opened under the shadow of allegations involving Gordon Ramsay's private life appeared to suffer both from the credit crunch and from negative publicity surrounding the man himself.
25,000 people visited Excel London from 4 – 7 December, but the show's director said he was still happy with the results.
"Although we had predicted up to 35,000 visitors, with 25,000 we were already bursting at the seams," said Taste festival director Justin Clarke.
"Taste of Christmas was a big step for Gordon Ramsay as it was his first show and he was very happy with the outcome. Overall visitors were pleased with the show, apart from a few that felt it was a bit pantomime-like, but then it is Christmas," he continued. "We are happy with the 25,000 visitors that the first show attracted and plan to make next year's show bigger and better."
This year’s show had a wide range of features such as the Gordon Ramsay Christmas Theatre, Tante Marie Christmas Cookery School Theatre and Gordon’s Spirit and Wine Experience.
Visitors could sample dishes from top restaurants including Boxwood Café, Maze and Le Gavroche.
Next year's show will take place from 3 - 6 December at Excel.
