Gordon Ramsay hits series high with 3.5m viewers

LONDON - 'Gordon Ramsay's F Word' cooked up a series high with 3.5m viewers last night, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The fifth episode of the Channel 4 cookery series, featuring comedian Paddy McGuinness and his family, and singer Jamelia, attracted a 16.6% share of the audience between 9pm-10pm.

Including viewers on Channel 4+1, the programme was watched by 3.7m viewers and a 17.4% share.

It was followed by Channel 4's 'Big Brother', with 3.5m viewers and a 19.9% share in the 10pm-11pm slot, up from 3.3m on the previous evening.

The ratings climbed to 3.6m viewers and a 20.8% share, including Channel 4+1.

Earlier in the evening, the third episode of Channel 4's '10 Years Younger', in which Nicky Hambleton-Jones and her team of cosmetic consultants help members of the public who want to look younger, had 2.6m viewers and a 12.3% share.

Including Channel 4+1, it pulled in 2.8m viewers and a 13.2% share.

Live coverage of Euro 2008 matches continues to serve up solid audiences for the official broadcasters ITV and the BBC, even if the quality of the games contrasts vividly.

ITV1's live coverage of Sweden's 2-0 win over Greece, in which the only exciting moment in a dour match came with a brilliant individual goal on 67 minutes, netted 4.1m viewers and a 20% share, making it the most watched programme in the 7.30pm-10pm slot.

BBC One's live coverage of Spain's thrilling 4-1 win over Russia brought 3.3m viewers and a 24% share between 4.45pm-7pm.
