Gordon Ramsay is Green's latest celebrity signing

LONDON - Gordon Ramsay and designer Kelly Hoppen are the latest high-profile names to be signed up by Sir Philip Green, Arcadia chairman and chief executive, to bring some glamour to his retail chain.

Ramsay has designed a range of knives and other food-related homewares for Bhs. He is also in talks about a revamp of the in-store cafes at Bhs, according to reports.

It is another string in the busy chef's bow. He runs a number of top restaurants, including Gordon Ramsay at Claridges, as well as starring in Channel 4's 'The F Word' and 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares'. He has also appeared on ITV in 'Hell's Kitchen' and in a US version of the same show.

Hoppen, known as the designer to high society as well as being the former girlfriend of England footballer Sol Campbell, has designed a range of furniture under the name KHome. There are 180 pieces in the range, including an oak bookcase retailing at Â£699.

The pair join Kate Moss, who is set to design a range of clothing for another of Green's retail brands, Topshop. Moss's appointment was swiftly followed by the resignation of Topshop's brand director, Jane Shepherdson, but she and Green each deny that this is related to the supermodel coming on board at the chain.

The Arcadia empire includes brands such as Dorothy Perkins, Burton and Miss Selfridge. There are 130 stores in the Bhs chain.
