Goodstuff wins ntl:Telewest Virgin Mobile strategy role

Goodstuff has been appointed media strategist for the group-wide account of the recently formed company ntl:Telewest Virgin Mobile.

The news follows the mobile company's decision earlier in the week to consolidate its media planning and buying into Manning Gottlieb OMD.

However, a spokeswoman for the merged company said the decisions will not lead to a consolidation of the creative account. Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R handles Virgin Mobile and Rapier holds ntl:Telewest. "This isn't an all-out assault on our agencies. We haven't looked at the creative side yet," she said.

Goodstuff has made a number of management changes to handle the new business. Andrew Stephens will take overall control of the merged account, while Goodstuff has hired Paul Gayfer from Naked Australia to oversee the TV and broadband side of the account.

James Kydd, the managing director of marketing at ntl: Telewest Virgin Mobile, said: "The company has strong agency relationships that will be invaluable in helping us achieve our new goals. The collective brains at Goodstuff and MG OMD will be put to good use and we believe that having the right media agencies on board will help transform the advertising output."
