GNM signs up to twice-yearly regional ABCEs

LONDON - Guardian Media Group is to release traffic data for its regional newspapers and websites on a twice-yearly basis after signing up to ABCe's six-monthly online audits.

Previously, regional newspaper publishers have reported their website traffic figures on an ad hoc basis, but GMG will now release data for regional websites such as manchestereveningnews.co.uk, manchesteronline.co.uk, getreading.co.uk and thejobsmine.co.uk on a biannual basis.

The ABCe six-month certificate details monthly, weekly and daily unique users for websites, and contains charts that provide a clear visual understanding of online traffic activity.

Martyn Gates, director of newspapers at ABC, indicated that the need to provide advertisers with credible, comparable and transparent figures was the reasoning behind this move.
