Designed to promote today’s (1 September) release of the Mad Max video game, the themed cars were available to request across locations in downtown Seattle from 28-31 August between the hours of 10am and 6pm.
In order to secure a ride, members of the public were instructed to open the Uber app on their smartphone or tablet and request ‘Mad Max’.
The Warboys, which sought to replicate the mode of transport used in the video game and movie of the same name, varied in size, shape and colour and could host one, three or four passengers.
While fans were warned that demand for the service would be high, it was noted that "dollars are worthless in the Wasteland" and as such, those who were granted a Warboy experience received a free ride to locations within the city's downtown area.
