Adidas worked with a group of 35 young Berlin-based football players known as The Club of 35 to create the space, which is designed to cater to the needs of the modern footballer and celebrate up-and-coming football talent.
Located in Uferhallen, Berlin, The Base features a five-a-side arena, two-a-side pitches, a trick shot studio, alley pitch, boot room, warm up area, dedicated skills area and hangout zones for players to relax in.
The 3,500sqm space, which is the equivalent length of 520 full sized goals, includes 1,000sqm of high quality turf, 1,500sqm of playground and 12 interactive stations.
Adidas also plans to use venue as an "open source" location for young football players to get involved in projects such as the testing and development of unreleased product.
During the opening party, Adidas football VIPs and young footballers from around Berlin took part in a 2 v 2 tournament. On Saturday (6 June) guests were invited to take part in small-sided football matches and view a screening of the UEFA Champions League final.
Adidas predicts The Base, which is set to open to the public on Saturday (13 June), will attract over 100,000 visitors during its 16-month lifetime.
