Global Market Insite expands China and India panels

LONDON - Research firm Global Market Insite has expanded its global consumer panel reach in China and India as part of a growth drive.

GMI's Chinese panel has grown by 65% to 1.9m consumers, while its Indian panel has grown by 421% to more than 400,000 since July 2006.

By expanding its global panels in China, India and other emerging economies around the world, the firm says it now enables market research firms and major FMCG brands to conduct more effective research and ultimately develop successful marketing campaigns tailored to the exact preferences of local consumers.

Dietmar Walter, vice-president  EMEA for GMI, said: "The need to be well informed has never been more crucial as companies look to expand out of their traditional Western marketplaces to take advantage of new and exciting opportunities in overseas markets that are growing much faster.

"Entering a new market or launching a new product is always risky. Through global panels in new emerging geographies, GMI helps companies minimize that risk by offering them a clear and accurate view of consumer opinions before committing valuable time and resources to new projects.

"A high-quality panel in these countries not only allows companies to minimise risk by offering an accurate view of customer's opinion, but also allows quick project turnaround when timing is of the essence. Also the fact that we can offer considerably reduced costs is important in fast-changing economies."
