The not-for-profit organisation said the campaign, which began in the UK in June and will have a strong online presence, will officially launch on 15 November.

It aims to result in worldwide collaboration between event agencies, venues and suppliers involved in all kinds of events to ensure sustainability across the board

The working party involved in launching the campaign includes representatives from Meeting Professionals International, the UK Business Visits and Events Partnership, the Association for Events Management Education, the Sustainable Events Alliance, the Positive Impact Sustainability Experts Group, the Convention Industry Council and the Green Meetings Industry Council.

Multinational corporate companies including KPMG have also been invited to provide input to the cause.

Fiona Pelham, Positive Impact managing director and co-founder, said: "Earlier this year, we launched a UK-specific vision and it’s now time to go global.

"There’s lots of amazing work on sustainability being carried out around the world and this vision will give everyone a place to collaborate and share best practice and we’re inviting anyone with input to step forward."
