Gervais and Merchant get cuddly in run-up to Xfm return

LONDON - Comedian Ricky Gervais is starring as a teddy bear in an animated viral campaign for Xfm to promote his return to the airwaves this weekend.

Gervais will appear in the viral alongside his 'The Office' co-writer Stephen Merchant and Xfm producer Karl Pilkington as they chat on air in the form of different coloured teddy bears.

Each animation uses real conversation from Gervais and Merchant's Xfm radio shows, which they presented for two years before taking a break to write new BBC sitcom 'Extras'.

The presenters talk about issues ranging from the pointlessness of Y-fronts, why they love foreigners and what present you would give a friend who is feeling a bit low.

Gervais and Merchant will be back for a six-week run at Xfm from May 28.

The animations, by Matt Everitt, are available to view at
