The £100,000 advertiser-funded partnership will enable Microsoft to promote its 2007 Office system through a series of programmes featuring gadget reviews. The series kicks off with a look at mobile phones and will subsequently look at LCD and plasma TVs, laptops and games consoles.
The programmes will show how the featured gadgets can be used with the 2007 Office system.
GCap is raising awareness of the promotion by targeting its VIP database, which contains the details of one million consumers. The radio network is sending out newsletters and is running online posters on each of the three radio websites.
The network has also set up WAP sites for each station, where users can watch trailers for the shows. Viewers will also get the chance to win some of the products reviewed.
The agreement was put together by GCap Interactive group head Tim Ferris and Universal McCann digital account manager Laura McDonnell.
Charlene McKellar, Microsoft's marketing communications manager, said: "The GCap partnership provided us with a vehicle for getting people genuinely interested and excited about the release of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. The shows incorporate all products within a theme, not just Microsoft, making this an excellent way of showcasing our release, while at the same time providing a valuable experience for the audience."
