
The owners of the Gaydar portfolio of media channels launch Gaydar On The Go on Monday (27 August), combining print, broadcast, events and online with viral activity.
Consumers will be targeted this weekend at Manchester Pride, where an estimated 135,000 people will meet in the city for the annual Mardi Gras festival.
Gaydar.co.uk has recently signed a three-year deal with Manchester Pride, whereby the site and its associated brands will become the event’s official online sponsor.
A Bluetooth device will be installed at the venue’s main stage, with signage encouraging people to log on to the mobile device to receive wallpaper, videos and special offers direct to their phones.
Gaydar.co.uk, which has 1.4 million UK subscribers, offers users features such as the ability to check messages and contact people on the move while using location-based technology to allow people to find out who else is logged on to the service in the vicinity.
Print ads will run across selected gay titles from Monday while broadcast activity will include a GaydarRadio competition to win handsets.
