FX gives free Nip Tuck sponsorship to cancer charity in plot tie-in

LONDON - The FX Channel has donated free sponsorship of plastic surgery drama Nip Tuck to a cancer charity.

The broadcaster has teamed up with Breakthrough Breast Cancer to raise awareness of male breast cancer.

The sponsorship is designed to tie-in with a subplot running throughout the second half of the fifth series in which one of the characters contracts the disease.

The deal runs throughout the second series from November 11 at 10pm. It will include over 1,440 seconds of advertising space and branding.

Speaking about the campaign Cecilia Parker, general manager at the FX Channel said: "In season five the character of Christian Troy, played by Julian McMahon, suffers a battle with breast cancer.

"Thousands of men worldwide suffering from this disease that's largely associated with women. It's our hope that sponsorship with Breakthrough Breast Cancer will help bring to light the risk of male breast cancer and get men, as well as women, checking for and thinking about the disease."
