In his new role, Ingham will oversee the titles Metal Hammer and Classic Rock, reporting to publishing director Andy Sutcliffe.
Ingham joined the company as ad manager in 2000 when the two titles were acquired from Dennis Publishing and has been editor of the title for the past three years.
Sutcliffe said INgham's experience made him ideal for the role: "I am sure that with his unique insight into both the advertising and editorial sides of our music magazines, Chris will take both titles to new successes."
Ingham's promotion follows the appointment of three other assistant publishers in February. Matthew Pierce was promoted from senior editor at the games magazine portfolio; Sean Atkins, also a senior editor on the games titles, moved across to the entertainment magazine portfolio; and Ursula Morgan joined Atkins in the entertainment portfolio. She had previously been working within the division as acting publisher.
