Future promotes Price to UK chief executive

LONDON - Future has reshuffled its senior management, promoting managing director Robert Price to the new role of chief executive of Future UK.

Group publishing director Simon Wear becomes chief operating officer, reporting into Price.. Wear joined Future in 1992 as a sales executive and subsequently helped set up the publisher's licensing and export operations and the role aims to reflect this growing responsibility.

Price will continue to report into chief executive Stevie Spring.

The restructure also sees a realignment of senior publishing roles.

Mia Walter, group publisher of games titles, becomes publishing development director and will work on new launch projects as well as concentrating on the further development of the publishing teams.

James Ashton becomes group publisher, games digital to reflect his focus on the development of Future's digital businesses such as gamesradar.com and computerandvideogames.com.

James Binns, Stuart Anderton and Peter Stothard become publishing directors of the games, computing & photography and automotive portfolios respectively.

Matt Pierce, games magazines publisher, Kelly Corten, computing and photography titles publisher, and Paul Sloggett, automotive publisher, are each promoted to group publisher.

The announcement comes as Future begins the search for a new London sales director to replace Clare Dove, who is moving to Bath to become the publisher's ad director of craft, games and technology magazines.
