Future poaches IPC marketer for new ad research role

LONDON - Nicola Truman has quit IPC Media to join Future in the new role of head of research, in which she will expand research activities and pass on the company's knowledge of its readers to advertisers and media agencies.

Truman was head of ad marketing for IPC's women's weeklies and TV listings divisions, and has 10 years of media experience. This includes a previous role at MTV Europe as strategic planner for ad sales.

Future's research department in Bath covers market research and advertiser-orientated research. Truman will work with market research manager Caroline Fraser, who will continue to undertake bespoke projects for Future's four consumer publishing groups -- Entertainment, Excite, Living and Technology.

Jayne Caple, advertising sales director at Future, said it was vital for the company to find new ways to demonstrate the value of readers of its special-interest magazines.

"Nicola is starting with Future at an important stage in our development -- as it becomes paramount to let potential advertisers know the value of our narrow-but-deep focus," she said.
