The compact-sized edition, launching in August, will be available alongside the full-size format and will be backed by a point-of-sale promotion that will run in 800 WHSmith stores.

Future's film portfolio - which also includes SFX and recently relaunched DVD & Blu-ray Review - has also announced several team changes.

Stuart Galbraith joins Future from Bauer Consumer Media to become associate publisher for SFX and DVD & Blu-ray Review. Formerly brand director for Kerrang!, Mojo and Q, he will work to develop and extend these popular brands beyond print.

Aubrey Day, group senior editor for Future's film portfolio, will assume complete responsibility for Total Film through the launch of its compact edition.

Simon Maxwell, group publisher for Future's Film portfolio said: "The launch of the compact edition is another example of how we're building our First for Film brand positioning for Future's film portfolio."
