Future hires Eggington as group publisher of electronic portfolio

LONDON - Future Publishing has appointed former Emap publishing director Pat Eggington as group publisher of its consumer electronics portfolio.

He replaces Andy Ford, who is emmigrating to Australia with his family.

Eggington will have responsibly for brands including Home Cinema Choice, What Satellite, What Plasma, What Video and Hi-Fi Choice.

He has 22 years in publishing and was latterly publishing director at the specialist publisher Crimson Customer Media.

Separately, the group has promoted publisher Chris Ingham to the new role of group publisher for its Classic Rock and Metal Hammer brands.

The group said the promotion of Ingham was a result of his expanding remit, which now spun across print, online, broadcast and live events.

He has held a number of roles at Future, including advertising manager for Metal Hammer before he switched disciplines to become editor at the end of 2000.
