Future Digital set to relaunch mag sites

Future Digital, part of Future Publishing, is overhauling and relaunching six of its computing magazine web sites.

Under the recently relaunched www.maxpc.co.uk network, Max-PC and its feeder sites pcplus.co.uk, pcanswers.co.uk, netmag.co.uk, pcformat.co.uk and iwks.com have undergone a series of front-end and back-end changes. The family of sites will share a familiar structure.

The design of each home page reflects different readerships. PC Plus' home page features reviews and downloads whereas the PC Answers home page focuses on tutorials and downloads. Other changes include improved download speeds and navigation; the amount of ad space has also been increased.

John Weir, publishing director at Future Digital, said: "The revamped sites aim to attract advertisers and increase subscriptions to our offline magazines. We hope to reach customers who may not have heard of Future Digital's magazines."

Separately, Future Digital has teamed up with digital magazine provider Zinio (www.zinio.com) to launch an online magazine for Microsoft Windows XP: The Official Magazine. Customers can turn pages of the title online as in print.

Users can click on links and be directed to any part of the title or external sites, such as distributors, product manufacturers, news sources and advertisers.
