The investment in the London-based studio is the FT’s latest move away from its reliance on print media.
Richard Edgar, the FT’s head of video, is overseeing the project.
The facility – which has a backdrop of the City – has four cameras and can be used to conduct interviews in formal and casual settings, with a presenter and up to three guests.
Panel discussions and debating-style sessions are among the options for which the FT could use the TV studios.
The studio also has connectivity to the BT Tower, allowing the FT newsroom to make video-link connections with its correspondents around the globe.
It will also be available for hire to external clients.
The Pearson-owned FT currently uses video supplied through a content-sharing deal with CNBC.
Like a number of rival newspaper groups, FT offers content across print, online, podcasts and video.
