The deal was brokered by Starcom+, which won the pitch for the Frank contract from the COI in July, with GCap Media.
Fresh 40 completes the line-up of three commercial chart shows, all operated by Hit40UK and tailored to different stations, around a year since the plans to add two charts to the long-running Hit40UK singles chart were announced.
The first addition was the A-List, focusing on top-selling adult contemporary artists for a 25- to 45-year-old audience. It launched in March with Bailey's as a sponsor for the first year.
Fresh 40 will be carried by more than 10 stations including Emap's Kiss network and Chrysalis' Galaxy network and is expected to attract an audience of 786,000. Produced by Somethin' Else and presented by Dynamite MC, it features a non-stop mix of the top 10 records and a mix-tape battle where listeners decide the winner.
Frank's sponsorship of the show includes planned extensions such as live events, music download compilations and mobile Wap sites.
Nathan Jones, a spokesperson for Frank, said: "Sponsoring the Fresh 40 will further build credibility and trust for the Frank brand, by being associated with a proposition that will resonate strongly with our target audience."
