Franz Ferdinand tasks DS Emotion with site redesign

LONDON - Franz Ferdinand, this year's indie-pop favourites, have relaunched their website after directly approaching agency DS Emotion.

The was redesigned by , after being approached directly by members of Franz Ferdinand, with the band鈥檚 lead singer Alex Kapranos saying he was impressed with the agency's "shit-hot digital creativity".

The new site provides information on forthcoming releases, tour dates, reviews and TV appearances, with fans having the opportunity to download lyrics, wallpapers and screensavers.

The band members have also been armed with laptops, microphones and a digital camera, so that they can document and upload pictures while on tour, allowing fans to keep up with them wherever they are in the world.

Chris Hassell, director at DS Emotion, said: "Our aim is to enhance the relationship between Franz Ferdinand and their fans. Franz Ferdinand fit well in our portfolio of entertainment and consumer brands and we're excited to be working on one of the most exciting digital projects for a UK band this year."

DS Emotion has also worked for Sony and Universal and has recently won work for SkyBet. The agency started out in Leeds, but opened a London office last year to focus on digital marketing for entertainment brands.

The band, signed to independent record label Domino, launch their fourth single 'Michael' in July, which is taken from their self-titled number one debut album.

'Michael' follows the top 10 hit singles 'Take Me Out' and 'Matinee'. It will be accompanied by a reworked version of the song 'Don't Start' and a new version of the live favourite 'Love & Destroy'.
