Franco is latest marketer to exit BK

Burger King's global chief marketing officer, Natalia Franco, has become the latest high-profile casualty to exit Burger King.

Franco is leaving after less than a year in the role, as Burger King's new private equity owner 3G Capital strips out costs from the business.

Franco joined Burger King in the then vacant top marketing role. Her predecessor Russ Klein left the business in September 2009.

Jonathan Fitzpatrick, previously executive vice-president global operations, will take on the new role of executive vice-president chief brand and operations officer.

He will oversee the chain's global brand management and product innovation.

Steve Wiborg, executive vice-president and president of North America, will take on a bigger role, which includes responsibility for all North American marketing efforts.

Last month, and internal appointee to replace the company's most senior European marketer, David Kisilevsky.
