The deal was secured after FX managed to secure promotional rights from Sony Pictures International, the UK distributor of 'Huff', as part of its new campaign.
The 'Huff' campaign is launching on cable and satellite TV, London Underground stations and in The Independent on Saturday this week, where the preview DVD will be given away.
Cecilia Parker, marketing director for Fox International channels, said: "The preview sampling, run in partnership with the Saturday Independent, is something that we will believe will help generate interest and talkability around what is an excellent show."
The campaign is the third launched by FX289 to drive viewers to the channel. FX employed similar strategies for the launch of 'Carnivale' last year, which delivered a record audience for the channel and increased weekly reach.
Drama series 'Huff' stars 'Dodgeball' and 'The Simpsons' actor Hank Azaria as psychiatrist Craig Huffstodt, who is having problems at home, which take a turn for the worse when one of his teenage patients commits suicide in his office. Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow's mother Blythe Danner stars as Huffstodt's mother.
FX289, which launched in January 2004, is a 24-hour men's entertainment channel from Fox. It features a mix of popular shows from the US combined with UK programmes such as 'The X-Files' and 'Penn & Teller: Bullshit!'
