Fox launches financial ad network

LOS ANGELES - Fox Networks has launched a vertical ad network, called Worthnet.Fox, which plans to target international consumers of financial news and investment advice sites.

Properties of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, including The Wall Street Journal Online, Barron's Online and MarketWatch, will be among the media partners available on Worthnet.Fox, with representation focused in Latin America.

The launch marks the first vertical network rolled out by .Fox Networks, which launched a year ago.

Worthnet.Fox plans to make it easier for advertisers to target senior business decision makers and affluent investors. It will also allow publicly traded companies from overseas to reach out to a wider and more disperse shareholder base

Hernan Lopez, president of .Fox Networks, said: "Of 46,000 publicly traded companies around the world, 20,000 come from emerging economies, and nearly half of these went public in the last five years.

"Worthnet.Fox provides an unparalleled opportunity to target difficult to reach traditional and new global affluent individuals whose interests span the globe."

Gordon McLeod, president of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, said: "The Wall Street Journal Digital Network properties enjoy a global following. Through Worthnet.Fox, we will enable publicly traded companies as well as luxury brands and services to connect to our highly valuable audience while generating incremental revenue outside our normal ad sales channels."

Additional websites in the financial and investment news and advice categories featured on Worthnet.Fox include premium third-party news publishers.

Fox said it plans to continue adding publishers to the network, but said it will not represent The Wall Street Journal Digital Network in markets where the network already has sales offices.

Like its parent, .Fox Networks, Worthnet.Fox focuses on advertisers outside of the US using its offices, which include those in the Americas, such as: Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires; Europe, where it has London and Paris among others; and Asia where it is represented in Tokyo and Singapore.
