Where the Pancakes Are
This Haggerston pop-up is literally Where The Pancakes Are in east London, located at The Proud Archivist by Regent’s Canal. While waffles are also usually high up its menu, today (17 February) sees the eatery serve up a special menu dedicated to the British pancake.
The Pancake Academy
Part of Eventbrite’s #DiscoveredLDN series, which aims to inspire Londoners and visitors to uncover great live experiences, The Pancake Academy is a one-day masterclass in all things crepe. The one-day school can be found on Bethnal Green Road, and its hosts will film all pancake flipping in slow motion for guests to show off to friends.
The Breakfast Club’s Pancake Challenge
Less of an event, more of a mad endeavour, London restaurant chain The Breakfast Club will be hosting eating challenges today throughout London. Contestants will be served a stack of 12 pancakes to eat in 12 minutes: if they fail, they’ll be asked to contribute the full price of the dish to the Breakfast Club’s chosen London charities.
Great Spitalfields Pancake Race
Cultural collective Alternative Arts is hosting a charity flipping race outside the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane. Teams of four will compete for first prize, as well as awards for the best-dressed and best-behaved teams. All funds raised go towards charity London’s Air Ambulance.
